The last week of August already, can you believe it? Time flies when you’re having fun and let me tell you, the Z-Unit has definitely been having their fair share of fun this summer!

This week Z hung out at the Saint George’s Youth Net end of summer party, we rocked out on Tall Ship Silva, we jammed out at the Beer Market at the Lower Deck with DJ Billy G, and we grooved to the sounds of DJ NoLuv at Reflections.

If you didn’t see the Z-Unit cruising around in the stylish 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer, you must have been hiding under a rock! We were all over the Metro area this weekend. From the Dingle to Lawrencetown to everywhere in between, we were out on the streets doing what we do best: HOOKING YOU UP!

A busy week here at Z, as always!! This week we hit up the SWITCH movie premiere with Jennifer Aniston! We had a full house and the movie was a riot, you have to see it if you haven’t already! Thursday was FREE BREAKFAST DAY at Subway and the Z-Unit hit up a ton of Metro locations, because what’s better than Free Breakfast! We also hit up the A & W Cruise in Dartmouth, which ended up being a HUMONGOUS event, there had to be at least 500 cars there, it was awesome.

Z also was super pumped to be apart of the NBA Jam Session on the Waterfront this weekend. There was coaching and fitness clinics, a 3 on 3 tournaments, and appearances by Buckets Blake from the Harlem Globetrotters, Al Horford from the Atlanta Hawks, and the Raptors Dance Squad! It was an awesome weekend, and hopefully they’ll be back in town next year! After the weekend was over, we threw a Listening Party for Katy Perry’s new CD “Teenage Dream” at Putting Edge! At the end of the night we drew for a bunch of prizes including a Trip for 2 to Toronto to see KATY PERRY LIVE IN CONCERT! It was an awesome night and the winners were CRAZY excited!

SUMMER RUSH WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!! Everyone here at Z wants to give a HUGE shout out and thanks to everyone who came out, the show was ABSOLUTELY incredible! Classified even came out for a surprise performance with J-Bru, and on top of his own set, Lil’ Jon helped out Jay Sean and LMFAO with their sets! Every single act put on an incredible show, and I CANNOT wait until next year!

Even with Summer Rush, we were still crazy busy! As the radio partner for the Halifax International Buskers Festival, we were there from August 5th right through til the 15th. All the acts were amazing, and we pretty much managed to hook up the entire Halifax Waterfront with Z Swag!

We were also lucky enough to be a part of Miracle Treat Day at the Dairy Queen on Spring Garden Road, and apparently making Blizzards just isn’t as easy as it looks. Luckily we had the expert guidance of our Z-Unit member Tracy, who was a DQ Veteran, and showed us all the secret tips and tricks!

All in All it has been a pretty AMAZING couple of weeks here at Z, but that’s just kind of how we do it over here!

And it’s August already… Where is this Summer going!? Time flies when your busy so that’s probably why it’s flying over here at Z!

On Friday we headed back out to MacDonald Beach for HMCS Toronto Beach Party, which was an awesome time with great weather. That night was the Swing & Dance for the Inherited Heart Disease Foundation! The Mellotones put on a great show, and this was a great cause that Z was happy to support! Some other fun stuff we got up to was a Party Patrol Stop at the Dooly’s in Lower Sackville, the August Sizzler Beach Party and Sand Sculpture Contest in Chester, and the Bryden Financial Car Liquidation Sale at the Halifax Forum!

As most of you know, it was also Natal Day Weekend! The 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer was there along with the Z-Unit, passing out tons of swag, tattoos, and getting the crowd dancing (our music was BUMPING!). We also hit up the Dartmouth Natal Day Road Race, the Pirate Party at Sullivan’s Pond, the Waterfront, and all over Halifax!

Z-Unit is zipping around the city as usual! Summer Heat Thursday at the Beer Market is awesome! In honor of Pride Week, Full Throttle Fridays Z was Gay for a Day with a No Labels Party! We had a table set up with tons of t-shirts and stuff to decorate them! People made some awesome t-shirts, and the Z-Unit discovered that none of us are very artistic… Haha! Every week during Summer Heat Thursday and Full Throttle Friday – Z gives away one pair of Summer Rush VIP! The only way in is to win!!

Z was also at the Evolve Music Festival in Antigonish, where Steph and Tracy got to meet FRED PENNER (Yes, I’m talking about Puff the Magic Dragon Guy!) The Z-Unit hit up Pride Parade, which was an awesome time as usual! And to finish off the week, Z ROCKED for HALIFAX ROCKS (Pardon the pun!) We were all over the Commons hooking people up with swag, throwing awesome mini tailgate parties with J-Bru, and letting people get their pictures taken with the BLACK EYED PEAS! It was a cardboard version of Black Eyed Peas, but they had great personality.
