I was born the son of 6 migrant coffee-bean pickers from Lower Guatemala (don't ask, let's just say there were a lot of test tubes and home-made tequila involved). By the time I was 3 days old, 4 of my "parents" had been abducted by traveling Latvian Gypsies, leaving me with merely 2 parents to raise me...Maria Louisa Conchita Rodriguez and Bill. Maria and Bill wanted me to live without fear of Latvian Gypsies and coffee beans, so we moved to the Maritimes where we spent time in Coldbrook, NS, Sackville, NB and Halifax.

Now as much fun as it was growing up living in tents on various campgrounds with unemployed migrant coffee-bean pickers, I decided one night that I deserved better than birch tree bark and pussywillows for supper, no matter how tasty they might be with a little barbecue sauce....So I vowed to make something of myself. Then I realized that would be way too much work. All I wanted to do was make a little money, dress like I was homeless (which I was) and drink whenever I wanted to....so I became, a, uh...a bum. And while this was fun for a few years, after awhile I got the itch to do something else, so I tried male prostitution. Didn't make a friggin' cent, in 3 YEARS!!! I actually started to offer myself up for free, but still no takers, and one woman even paid me $50 just to go away....far away.

So I did....to Saint John (hey that IS far away when you're hitchhiking from Halifax), where I landed a gig hosting Karaoke night at "Jim's Place"....it wasn't a bar, just my buddy Jim's house, but he paid me so what did I care? Then one night, one of the bigwigs from Z103.5 was in town and he dropped by Jim's Place. The first words out of his mouth were, "Oh my god, where have you been hiding?!?!?!? You must come with me to Halifax, YOU are going to be a star!!!!!" But Jim didn't want to move, so I offered to work for free and cut his toenails every 2 weeks if he gave me the job, and here I am. Every word of that is the gods-honest truth....pretty much....sort of....okay it's all a load of crap, except the working for free-toenail cutting part. I hate these things...I'd rather stick a fork in my eardrum than write about myself. Here goes...I was born in Sydney and spent my formative years in Truro attending Brookfield Jr. High and CEC. My education and career has taken me all over the Maritimes. When I'm not deflecting the slings and arrows of my morning cohorts I love to watch the contact sport we call politics, follow the trials and tribulations of Halifax council and escape to worlds unknown as I pursue my passion for all things sci-fi. When the budget allows I also like to pursue my other passion...flying.

It's great to be on the air with the best radio station in Atlantic Canada. There's hasn't been anything like the Z on the air ever in this region. Outstanding listeners, great music, mildly amusing co-workers...who could ask for anything more?
